Studying The Word

I recently have been on a journey to increase my spiritual maturity, by changing my personal time in the Word. I am connected in several ways; discipleship group, care team, and recently a manuscript study.

All for a desire to draw near to our faithful Savior. I pray daily that I am open completely to what my God is teaching, directing, and blessing me.

Thank you God for saving me!

Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions. (Proverbs 18:2 NIV)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” (Romans 1:16, 17 NIV)

God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. (Romans 2:6, 7 NIV)

God Bless You,

Daily Devotional

Today’s devotional reading and daily verse good together so perfectly for me.

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7 NLT

Life Application Study Bible Devotional Daily Reading: (Mark 7:8-9)

Jesus wasn’t against all tradition, but he was against those who made their traditions as important, if not more important, than God’s Word.

Good traditions shine a spotlight on God’s Word, move us to obedient service, and help our hearts sing.

They explain and reinforce the teachings of God. God’s Word should always be the focus, and tradition a means of bringing that Word alive.

Celebrate your traditions with the prayer that Christ would be exalted. Change your traditions if they become more important than God’s Word.

8 For you ignore God’s law and substitute your own tradition.”

9 Then he said, “You skillfully sidestep God’s law in order to hold on to your own tradition.

Overflowing Generosity

ThinkingOnThings400“Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.” (Mark 10:27 NLT)

Hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. (Romans5:5)

These two verses have been filling my thoughts all week. I am so blessed by our Lords Spirit pouring over me so I can pour it out on others as blessings. I pray this outpouring is filled with God’s overflowing generosity for us.  I humbly seek to draw near to our faithful savior, so he can use me for his purpose in my life’s journey.

I pray my deeds are pure to my Lord’s purposes, as they are nothing without God’s grace and mercy to uplift my fellow Christians.

Character of the New Man

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (Colossians 3:12-17 NKJV)
