Love Is Greatest

Image 12-7-13 at 4.24 PMThis Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
(Romans 1:17 NLT)

Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless. (1 Corinthians 13:7-10 NLT)

Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
(1 Corinthians 13:12, 13 NLT)

“Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.
(Habakkuk 2:4 NLT)

And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.” But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction.
We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.
(Hebrews 10:38, 39 NLT)

So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
(Galatians 3:11 NLT)

Daily Verse:
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
(1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV)

A Prayer for Guidance

A Prayer for Guidance

But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple. Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before me.

lightstock_470_xsmall_user_2287315But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield.
(Psalm 5:7, 8, 11, 12 NKJV, ESV)

Daily Verse:

I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word.
(Psalms 130:5 NLT)

Daily Prayer:

I pray for all of your saints to seek You in your Word daily. I need to strengthen my spiritual maturity by reading your word daily and drawing near to you, so that I can know and be more like Jesus Christ. Amen.

Man Up! Advance Forward

A Man and his God…

A Man and his Brothers / Family…

A Man and his World…

Men Up Leading the Praises of God

Praise the Lord ! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord ! Praise the Lord ! (Psalm 150:1-6 ESV)

Spurring One Another

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (Hebrews 10:23-25)

Fighting for My Brothers

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. (Philippians 2:3-7)

Daily Verse:

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34, 35 ESV)

Daily Prayer:

To be a man of the Word, that God continues to pour his Grace in my wounds, cracks, and holes in my life. And His Holy Spirit pours in me to live as Christ like to his will for my life.

Bring it to the foot of the Cross…

Foot of Cross

Foot of the Cross

We should not be so arrogant, that we forget to pray for one another and use our skills glorify God with our lives…

All of us have special skills. God wants to fill us with his Spirit so we will use those skills for his glory.

Pray for tribulations you hear in the media and news, for the people and the children…

I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected— even children in the third and fourth generations.” (Exodus 34:7 NLT)

“Honor your father and mother, as the Lord your God commanded you. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.  (Deuteronomy 5:16 NLT)

Something I think the church community needs to share with all Christians of all faiths…

“And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul. (Deuteronomy 10:12 NLT)

Here are the essentials:

  1. Fear God;
  2. Live in a way that pleases him;
  3. Love him;
  4. Serve him with all your heart and soul; and
  5. Obey his commands.

Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it. (James 4:17 NLT)

I need to strengthen my walk with more prayer…

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.  (Romans 8:18 NKJV)

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  (Matthew 7:21 NKJV)

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;  (I Peter 3:15 NKJV)

I need to bring it all to the foot of the Cross everyday…

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  (Acts 2:38 NKJV)

Daily Verse:

“For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.”  (Galatians 1:10 NKJV)

Daily Prayer:

Father, help me to go beyond the afflictions and tribulations of our age, and to look toward the inheritance reserved for us in heaven.
